Smith, Linda J. (21 NOV 1949 – 11 JAN 2020)

Linda Jane Smith passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, on Saturday, January 11, 2020. She was born on November 21, 1949, to the late Grant and Mary Jane (Semones) Christiansen. She grew up in Illinois and on August 13, 1980, married Henry Smith Jr. in Moline, IL.

Linda was a homemaker. She had a love for coonhounds, both showing and hunting with her dogs, a love of horses, she liked to fish, was a Girl Scout leader and was the best friend someone could have. Linda would do anything for her best friend, Diane Board, no matter the time. She will be missed very much by all who knew her.

Linda is survived by her best friend, Kevin Hampson; her five children: her oldest daughter, Becky Jane Mertens, mother of Landon Smith and Montana Mertens; second daughter, Melissa Sue (Matthew) Grambsch, mother of Johnathan, Kayla, Elizabeth and Michael Grambsch; third daughter, Amy Irene Smith; oldest son, Cody Christopher Smith, father of Ryan Smith- Sigsworth; and youngest son, Jason Michael (Kari Mero) Smith; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her beloved dog Spike; her husband Henry Roy Smith, Jr (2000); son Jeffery Matthew Smith; brother Grant Michael Christiansen; and a sister, Christine.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020, at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley with inurnment in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior on Monday.
