Ladd, Robert Keith (1 December 1927 – 15 January 2020) With Flag

Robert Ladd, age 92, of Neillsville, died Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

Robert Keith Ladd was born on December 1, 1927 in Iowa Falls, IA the son of Claude and Mable (Klein) Ladd. Bob was a WWII veteran, having served in the United States Navy from May 29, 1945 until his honorable discharge on July 13, 1946. He then returned home to farm with his father. On April 17, 1948 he was united in marriage to Ilean Anna Harringa in Mankato, MN. After they were married, they worked at a canning factory in Blue Earth, MN and then farmed in Forest City, IA. In 1958, they purchased a farm in the Town of Seif and farmed for 54 years. During that time Bob also worked for Wedges Creek Research Farm and Bio-Life. Ilean died in 2016.

He is survived by three children, Audrey Bonney of Wisconsin Rapids, Lynda Hilliard of Neillsville, and Dale (Janice) Ladd of Neillsville. Seven grandchildren, Darlene (William) Dhein Sr., Robert Marek, Kevin (Roberta) Bonney, Travis Ladd, Matthew Ladd, Shannon Ladd and Cody Ladd, eight great-grandchildren, William (Haley) Dhein Jr., Ashlea (Godwin) Dhein, Nicole (Jed) Marek, Michael Marek, Kordell (Britney) Bonney, Kourtney (Darren) Bonney, Dakota Bonney and Carmine Ladd, three great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Persho of Zearing, IA, brothers-in-law, Eugene (Aurilla) Harringa of Cedar Falls, Brock Walden of Forest City, IA, , a sister-in-law, Marcella Mahon of Leona Valley, CA, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ilean, his parents, sons-in-law, Kenneth Bonney and Jerold Peterson, a great grandson, Brandon Bonney and siblings, Vivian, Evelyn, Glenda, Thelma and Ronald.

Funeral Services for Robert will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe. Pastor Nathan Wilke will officiate. Music will be provided by Jed & Nicole Burdick and Michael Marek. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery with military honors performed by the Neillsville Veteran’s Council. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Church.

Honorary Casket Bearers are Kordell Bonney and Matthew Ladd.
