The Matson family met at the Chapman Park in Stanley on Sunday, August 10, 1975
for their 5th annual family reunion.
A potluck dinner was enjoyed at noon, with relatives attending from Tyler and
Mankato, Minnesota, Schaumburg, Illinois, Janesville, Marshfield, Greenwood,
Curtiss, Colby, Eau Claire, Owen, Withee and Prentice, Wisconsin.
After dinner a short business meeting was conducted, with vice president LeRoy
Anderson presiding in the absence of President Ray Dearth, who was not able to
stay for the afternoon, due to the illness of his wife, who was hospitalized at
Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
The oldest member of our family, Andrew Matson Sr., was not able to be present
at our reunion this year because, he too had just returned home from the
hospital after undergoing major surgery.
Two new officers elected were Lillian Matson as Treasurer, replacing Anna
Tauchen, and Barbara Herrin as secretary, replacing Irene Shadrick.
After a light lunch all returned to their various homes.
