Offord, Selma (27 MAY 1903 – 30 AUG 1975)
At 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, September 2, 1975 funeral services for Mrs. Jesse
Offord, 72, were conducted from the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. The Rev.
Donald Stats of the United Church of Christ, Owen, officiated, with burial being
made at Riverside Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Timothy Obrycki, earl Baehr, Fred Harp, Delbert Richmond,
Raymond Pszeniczny, and Glen Vetterkind.
Mrs. Offord, the former Selma Thiel, passed away August 30th, 1975 at Victory
Memorial Hospital, Stanley. She was born May 27, 1902 in the Town of Reseburg
(Clark Co., Wis.), where she received her education. On October 31, 1922, in a
ceremony performed in Thorp, she was married to Jesse Offord, who preceded her
in death, passing away December 20, 1972. Since her marriage, and up until the
time of her husband's death, they had resided in the Town of Reseburg, where
they farmed.
Her passing is being mourned by a son, Arlis, Withee; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Evon)
Pitts, Withee; a brother, Herman Thiel, Owen; two sisters, Mrs. pearl (Amanda)
Buck, Viola and Mrs. Agnes Gorsegner, Neillsville; 12 grandchildren and 4
great-grandchildren.
