Loberg to be Honored by Post 73 (2020)

Veteran Orville Loberg will be honored by the Neillsville Legion in the facility’s next recognition of military veterans.

After attending Christie Grade school and graduating from Neillsville High School in 1961, Loberg joined the 32nd Red Arrow National Guard in Neillsville. During the Berlin Crisis, he was sent to Fort Lewis in Washington. He had basic training at Fort Ord in California.

At Fort Lewis, Loberg was an infantry rifleman and trained there like the rest of his division. He was discharged in 1967.

Loberg farmed for 26 years and worked for 25 years in housekeeping and maintenance at Memorial Medical Center.

Loberg was married to Judith Gulczinski. They have three children – Charlene, Keith and Angele. They also have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Loberg enjoys hunting and fishing.

Loberg will be honored at an event at American Legion Post 73, 7 Boon Boulevard, Neillsville. It is this Monday, Feb. 3. There will be a social hour at 4:30 p.m. and a potluck at 5:30 p.m.
