Marty, Laurie Sue (30 AUG 1975)
Miss Laurie Sue Marty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Marty, Withee (Clark
Co., Wis.), became the bride of David Lee Gay, son of Attorney and Mrs. Ernest
C. Gay, on Saturday, August 30th, 1975. The Rev. Douglas Groenewold performed
the 2:30 nuptial ceremony, when given in marriage by the brides' parents.
The bride's wedding gown was styled with short puffed sleeves and she wore a
Julian style veil. Her bridal bouquet consisted of yellow roses, tipped
carnations and green foliage.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Sandra Mueller, with bridesmaids,
Miss Marianna Hanson, Miss Laurel Klabon, and Miss Debbie Kallio. Their gowns
were floor length checked peach and white for the maid of honor, and blue and
white for the bridesmaids. They wore large picture hats and carried bouquets of
carnations and daisies, matching their gowns.
The groom was attired in a white tux with black trousers and groomsmen in gray
tuxedos. Serving as best man was David Zimmerman, with groomsmen Jeff
Fredrickson, Chris Christopherson, and Thomas Rohland.
Following the wedding ceremony a dinner was served in the church dining hall,
and a reception was held at 8 p.m. at the Meadowview Country Club.
The bride is a 1974 graduate of the Owen0Withee High School and is employed as
an accountant clerk for Thorp Finance at Chippewa Falls.
The groom is a 1974 graduate of the Owen-Withee High School and is employed by
the City of Owen.
Following a wedding trip the newlyweds are making their home in Owen.
