Two Thorp area (Clark Co., Wis.) brothers, David and Robert Christie, now both
15 years of age, received an award Thursday evening at the state convention of
the Wisconsin County Police Association at Tomah. The awards were for acts of
heroism by the brothers at an auto accident August 5 of this year in the Town of
Thorp.
In last August the boys were honored at a luncheon at Thorp for their efforts,
and have also been recommended for a Governor's Safety Award.
The Christie brothers, sons of Mr. and Mrs. David Christie, Route 1, Thorp,
rescued at least seven persons from a burning van, after it had struck a bridge
abutment in the Town of Thorp the night of August 5.
