Woik, Alvin W. (26 OCT 1895 – 21 OCT 1975)
Services for Alvin W. Woik, 79, Route 1, Owen, were held Friday, October 24th,
1975 at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby. Mr. Woik died Tuesday, October 21,
1975 at the Continental Manor Nursing Home at Abbotsford.
Rev. Kenneth Dix of Colby, officiated. Burial followed at Green Grove (St.
Paul's Cemetery).
Pallbearers were Donald Sommers, Vernon Sommers, Marlyn Sommers, Robert Woik,
Ralph Woik and Larry Herrington.
Mr. Woik was born in the town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.), October 26,
1895. He attended the Woodland School in the town of Green Grove. He farmed in
Green Grove until 1946. Then he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Woik until
entering the nursing home in January 1975.
Her served in World War I and was a member of the American Legion Post #358 of
Unity.
Survivors include a brother, Paul Woik of Abbotsford, and two sisters, Mrs. John
(Olga) McLaughlin, Lomita, California., and Mrs. Hulda Nedley, Milwaukee,
Wisconsin.
Five brothers, one sister, one step-brother and one step-sister preceded him in
death.
