Schlinsog, Walter (Rotarian of the Year - 1975)
The people in the Granton area are known for recognizing accomplishments of
local citizens, giving “roses” to the living. Each year they have an honored
citizen of the year, a number of honorary farmer degrees and a host of school
awards.
This year, the Granton Rotary recognized Walter Schlinsog, Rt. 2 Granton, as the
Bicentennial Rotarian of the Year. Walter, a retired farmer, is 80 years old and
an active Rotarian who attends meetings weekly and helps with all club projects.
Besides farming, Walter was a paper hanger most of his life. He was town
chairman, ser3ved on the county board and was a member of the highway committee
for a number of years. Today he lives in a mobile home on the home farm operated
by his son, Robert.
