"A Ticket of Admission – Or Is It?" will be the title of the Commencement
address to be delivered by Dr. Gary E. Rohde at the University of Wisconsin,
River Falls on Sunday, November 16, 1975 at 2 p.m. in Karges Gym.
Approximately 128 of the 253 summer and fall graduates to receive degrees will
be present at the ceremony. Of the 253 graduates, 162 will be granted
undergraduate degrees, and 91 will receive Master's degrees.
Rohde, Assistant Dean of the UW, River Falls College of Agriculture, is the
University's 1975 Distinguished Teacher. A professor of agricultural economics,
Rohde is a graduate of the UW, River Falls and the UW, Madison. He was born in
Neillsville Wisconsin and attended Greenwood High School.
Rohde is known throughout the state by farmers and agri-businessmen for his
University Extension work and leadership of the College of Agriculture
internship program. He joined the River Falls faculty in 1966.
Sharing the platform will be Chancellor George R. Field, Regent Nancy Barkla of
River Falls, John W. Davison of River Falls, representative of the alumni
association, and the Rev. Richard Hoblin of River Falls Congregational Church.
The University Symphony Band, conducted by W. Larry Brentzel, will perform a
concert at 1:30 p.m. in Karges Gym. A reception for graduates, family and
friends will be hosted by the Faculty Women's Club in the Ballroom following the
ceremony.
