The Mid-year Commencement of the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire took place
at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 1975 in the University Arena. Chancellor
Leonard Haas presided at the tradition ceremony, during which 372 persons
received degrees.
Among them was Brian Mahoney, City (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), who was graduated
magna cum laude from the School of Education, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He
is now seeking a teaching position in art or English.
Following the Commencement ceremony, Chancellor Haas of the UW, Eau Claire
faculty hosted a reception for the graduates and their families in Davies
Center. Attending the ceremony from here were Brian's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.J.
Mahoney Jr., son Kevin and daughter Colleen.
Dr. Robert Polk, Associate Vice-President for Academic Affairs for the
University of Wisconsin System, was the commencement speaker.
Among those attending the commencement were Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Mahoney, Jr.,
daughter Colleen, Jerry Niznik, Mrs. R.E. Gabriel and brother Dwight Perkins,
Jacksonville, Florida, and Kevin Mahoney of Eau Claire.
