Cox, Barbara A. (9 JUL 1953 – 5 FEB 2020)

Barbara Ann Cox, age 66, Town of Mayville, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at her home under the tender care of hospice with her family by her side.

A celebration of life was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Family and friends were welcomed from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Barb was born on July 9, 1953, the daughter of Herbert and Arlene (Carter) Weiland. She was a 1971 graduate of Stratford High School. On November 6, 1993, she was united in marriage to Thomas C. Cox in Abbotsford. Barb worked for Abbotsford Nursing Home as a dietary cook, for about 30 years.

Barb was an active member and on the Altar Guild at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford until her health issues. She loved being outside; taking long walks, riding her bike, and boating on the Eau Pleine. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, and watching and drawing birds. She always kept everything very orderly. Most importantly, she cherished her family, and loved becoming a grandmother in 2016. Jaxton was her pride and joy.

Barb is survived by her husband, Tom; her daughter, Jenna (Jeremy) Feltz; her grandson, Jaxton; her mother, Arlene; three sisters: Charlotte (Terry) Schoenherr, Karen (Bob) Levandoski and Shirley (Rick) Smazal; one brother, Ardell (Sue) Weiland, along with many nieces and nephews; cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her dad and nephew, Travis Smazal.
