The Silver Beaver, highest award a council can bestow to a volunteer leader for
service to boyhood, was presented to Joseph Keating, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.),
the past week.
Joseph Keating, Thorp, President of Thorp Telephone Company, is an Eagle Scout
and served as Cub-master and Scoutmaster in Thorp. He has served as White Pine
District finance chairman for three years and as a district advancement
chairman. He has been an Executive Board member since 1965. He has been chairman
of the Thorp Winter Ice Carnival for the past 23 years. He is past president of
the Thorp Ara Development Corporation and Lions Club, and member of the county
Red Cross. He is past president of St. Bernard's Holy Name Society, and a member
of Knights of Columbus.
