Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mead attended the confirmation of their granddaughter,
Patricia Mead, at Barron, Wisconsin on Sunday, March 26th.
The Thorp Courier bowling team participated in the Women's State Bowling
Tournament held in Kenosha on Saturday and Sunday of last week. Representing the
Courier were Mrs. Ila Woodworth, Leona Possley, Ann Christensen, Pat Turenne,
Alice Lencz, Ethel Alger, and Shirley Elkins.
Mrs. Mary Soderberg celebrated her 80th birthday on Saturday, March 25th, with
all members of her family here for the occasion: Pat, Margie, Doris and Jerry,
Mr. and Mrs. Pat Soderberg, Mrs. Margie Hastreiter of Woodruff, Wisconsin, Mrs.
Robert Cleary of Alexandria, Virginia, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Soderberg of
Rockford, Illinois, and Mary enjoyed a dinner at the Sky Club that evening,
followed by birthday cake festivities with grandchildren, Nancy and Marcie
Soderberg's home on Sunday included great-grandchildren, family of Mr. and Mrs.
Don Soderberg of Stevens Poisnt at the Pat Soderberg home.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sawczuk and family visited Sunday afternoon at the Alvin
Benzschawel home.
Relatives helped Robert Benzschawel celebrate his birthday at his home on Sunday
evening.
Mrs. Louis Kaczor and Bill spent Sunday in Eau Claire.
