Koperski, John (1875 – 27 MAR 1972)
Funeral services were held for John Koperski on March 30, who passed away on
March 27, 1972 at the Havenet Home, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.). Reverend John
Puerner officiated at the 10:30 services, which were held at St. Hedwig's
Chapel. Burial was in New St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
Mr. Koperski was born in Poland in 1875 and arrived in the United States at an
early age. He was employed in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.
In 1909 he was united in marriage to Katherine Kreyski in West Moreland City,
Pennsylvania. In 1912 they moved to a farm in the town of Hixon (Clark Co.),
where he resided until November, when he moved to Havenet Home in Owen.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Marvin and Dennis Paczkowski of Withee, Gary and
Clifford Koperski of Park Forest, Illinois, Donald Koplitz of Chicago, and Alan
Schnitker of Crestwood, Illinois.
He is survived by five sons, Walter (Helen) of Junction City, Wisconsin, Joe
(Victoria) of Jacksonville, Florida, Casmere and Edward of Thorp, and Julius
(Dorothy) of Park Forest, Illinois; and seven daughters, La Verne Clark of Long
Beach, California, Helen Luce of Junction City, Viola (Leon) Patch and Valerie
(Lester) Koplitz of Chicago, and triplet daughters, Katherine (Frank) Kolis of
Colma, California, Marie (Chester) Kowalczyk of Chicago, and Victoria (Edward)
Paczkowski of Withee ; one sister, Julia Karlak of Alberta, West Virginia; 28
grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
