Recent graduates in their respective fields were William and Richard Wagner,
sons of Mrs. Florence and the late William S. Wagner, owner and published of the
Thorp Courier until his death in 1966.
Graduating at the Spring Graduation at the University of Wisconsin at Madison,
Richard L. Wagner received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. His doctoral
dissertation title was Supervisor Behaviors Directed Toward Trainee Performance
of Facilitative Dimensions.
Richard received his B.S. at the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse, followed
by his M.A. at La Crosse, and a second M.A. at Purdue University, LaFayette,
Indiana.
As a coach he taught in Schofield, Park Falls, Waupaca, La Crosse and Glenwood
City, Wisconsin. Changing to Guidance and Counseling, he taught at Madison East
High School in Madison.
For the past three years, Doctor Wagner has been a teaching assistant in the
Department of Counseling and Guidance at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
He has also spent part of his time teaching Introduction to Guidance at the
University of Wisconsin in Whitewater, where he now lives with his wife, the
former Jo Ann Boyd of Wyola, Montana, and their four children.
