Misfeldt, Mabel L. (6 NOV 1889 – 14 APR 1972)
Mrs. Mabel L. Misfeldt, 82, died Friday evening, April 14, 1972, at Victory
Memorial Hospital at Stanley, where she had been a patient since April 9th.
Mable Hubbard was born November 6, 1889 to Emma and Newton Hubbard at Red Cedar,
Dunn County, Wisconsin.
She attended the Durand Grad School, La Crosse and Stout State Teacher Colleges,
and taught in the rural and city school in Durand, Jim Falls, and Thorp.
She was married to John Misfeldt at Red Cedar, Wisconsin on September 2, 1912,
when they moved to a farm south of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). In the spring of
1959, they moved to their present home in the City of Thorp. She was preceded in
death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers.
Surviving are four sons, Loren of Antigo, Roland of Withee, and Clyde and Galen
of Thorp; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving is
one sister, Mrs. Nora McGuine of Durand.
Funeral service were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 1972 at Thorp United
Methodist Church, with Reverend David L. Fuller officiating. Burial was at
Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Pallbearers were John Miller, Casper Haas Sr., Harry Quelle, Frank Schultze,
Russel Mead, and Ronald Glasshof.
Including those from out of town who attended the funeral were Her 1908
classmates from Menomonie.
