Harriet Mary Judycki was born on February 24, 1929, in Lublin, WI, the daughter
of Adolph and Helen (Walenga) Judycki. She was raised on the family farm and
received her education at Lublin State Graded School and Withee High School.
After completing her education, she moved to Argo, IL and lived with her Aunt
Teofilia and Uncle Julian. Harriet was united in marriage to Richard F. Wrobel,
Sr. on November 25, 1950, at St. Blase Catholic Church in Argo, IL. They lived
in the Chicago area where Harriet worked for the Wrisley Soap Company, Norwegian
American Auxiliary Hospital, and the Motorola TV factory. In 1969, they moved to
Withee, and she worked at the Ben Franklin Store in Withee, Pabich's Grocery
Store in Thorp, and the Thorp IGA until retiring in 1991.
She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and
neighbors, being outdoors in her gardens, working in her flower beds, mowing her
never- ending lawn, where she occasionally got the lawnmower stuck, hand
embroidering, and playing cards, especially 65. Harriet also loved to cook and
bake everything, especially Polish food, and her great-grandkids loved her
breaded chicken tenders. She also enjoyed canning, and making sauerkraut every
fall.
Harriet was a very active member of St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church
in Lublin, where she sang in the church choir and worked and cooked in the
kitchen for many church functions. She also was a member of the Lublin American
Legion Auxiliary Post 547.
She is survived by her two children: Christine (David) Konieczny of Medford,
Richard (Peggy) Wrobel, Jr. of Thorp; five granddaughters; eight
great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard, on September
15, 2018; her daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Zaidel, on September 6,2014; one
sister, Eugenia Pawula; and three brothers: Edward, Chester and Edwin Judycki.
A very special thank you to her family for all of their loving support and
kindness, her dear lady friends that she went dancing with, her dear neighbors
Eva and Leroy Kilmer, and Marilyn and Marvin Knolt, for always being there, and
the Marshfield Clinic for all of their excellent care.
