Slota, Phillip T. (30 SEP 1911 – 28 APR 1972)
Phillip T. Slota, 60, of Medford (Taylor Co., Wis.) passed away on Friday, April
28th, 1972, at Memorial Hospital, Medford, where he had been admitted earlier of
an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 1st, 1972, ten a.m. at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Joseph N. Miller officiating. Burial was
made in St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery, rural Thorp, Wisconsin.
Mr. Slota was born September 30, 1911 at Junction City, Wisconsin. He was united
in marriage September 2, 1939 at Chicago to Rose Mills. He attended Thorp area
schools and also attended the University of Wisconsin for several years. He was
employed as a machinist and worked on road construction in the early 1930's, for
a time he was employed as a tool and die maker in Chicago, and in 1949 they
moved to Medford. In 1951 and 1954 he worked as a civilian for the U.S.
Government in Greenland.
Surviving are his wife Rose; one son, Phillip Jr. of Hartland, and one daughter,
Sandra Sue of St. Petersburg, Florida; one granddaughter, Suzanne Delina; one
brother, Arthur of Monona and ?; two sisters, (Rita) Mrs. Roger Lawrence of
Waukesha, (Ruth) Mrs. Henry Sierociuk of Thorp.
