Thorp area students have received two of 37 scholarships awarded this week by
the University of Wisconsin Marathon County Center in Wausau.
Doreen Osowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Osowski, Rt. 1, Thorp (Clark
Co., Wis.), and Greg Sokolowski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley J. Sokolowski, 305
W. Franklin Street, Thorp, both received Petersdorf scholarships.
The awards were presented Sunday, April 30, 1972, at UWMC's annual student
awards convocation. The event, featuring an address by Dr. Leonard Haas,
Chancellor of the UW, Eau Claire campus, was part of UWMC's 25th anniversary
celebration.
Miss Osowski and Mr. Sokolowski are both high school seniors at Thorp High
School, and the scholarships are for study and UWMC next year.
