Genteman, William Sr. (8 September 1909 – 13 October 1975)
Funeral services are to be held today (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the
Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for a Town of Levis farmer, William Genteman, Sr.,
66, of Rt. 3 Neillsville, who was pronounced dead on arrival at Memorial
Hospital. The Rev. Joseph Henseler of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate,
and burial will follow in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The body was to be in
state from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday and until time of services today.
William Genteman, son of Phillip and Christina Stofl Genteman, was born
September 8, 1909, at Poezin, Germany, and came to the United States at the age
of two. He came to Clark County and was educated at the Rock Creek School.
Mr. Genteman later moved to Chicago where he was married to the former Mary
Jaciga on March 30, 1929. He worked in Chicago until 1946 when the family came
to Clark County. Mr. Genteman farmed in the Town of Levis until the time of his
death.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are four children: William Genteman of Loyal,
Edward and Robert Genteman of Neillsville and Thomas Genteman of Willard; one
sister, Mrs. Arthur (Katherine) Kurbyun of Neillsville; and 18 grandchildren.

Genteman, William, Sr. (8 September 1909 – 13 October 1975)
Funeral services were held October 16 from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for
William Genteman, St., 66, of Rt. 3 Neillsville, who died October 13. The Rev.
Joseph Henseler of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiated, and burial followed in
the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Louis Zank, Erwin Poelzel, Pink Van Gorden, Alvin Schutte,
Herb Schoenherr, Joe Mazola, Leon Schultz and Frank Svetlik. Mrs. John Schiesel
was the organist.
Those from out of town who attended the services were Mrs. Susie Jaciga and John
Jaciga, Johnstown, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Vydick and Carl Vydick, Jr. Bedford,
Oh.; Jimmy Genteman, Chicago, Il.; Mrs. R. Dickerson, Peru, In.; Mrs. Nancy
Stratton, McHenry, Il.; Marvin Schutte, Baldwin; Mrs. David St. John; Mr. and
Mrs. Marvin Kretschmer, Fremont; Richard Schoenherr, Rockford, Il.; Mr. and Mrs.
William Genteman and Mr. and Mrs. David Berlick, Chili; and Mrs. Walter Wucki
and family, Oshkosh.
