Bogumill, Myrth L. (17 NOV 1925 – 23 FEB 2020)

Myrth L. Bogumill, age 94, of Thorp, WI, passed away [peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Stanley, WI. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Thorp Funeral Home, in Thorp. Rev. Janice Beutin will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Myrth Leone Redlin was born on November 17, 1925, in Eau Claire, WI. To Mildred (Dawley) Redlin. She was raised and received her education in Eau Claire, graduating from Eau Claire High School in 1943. After high school, Myrth moved to Chicago where she worked for a short time. She returned to Eau Claire and worked at Uniroyal, the Eau Claire City/ County Health Department, Twin City Aviation, and the U.S. Soil Conservation Service. Myrth had gotten her pilots license and loved to share stories of her flight upside- down over Lake Wissota on the day WWII ended. She was united in marriage to Clayborne Bogumill on July 12, 1952. They initially lived on Rock Dam and moved to Thorp to raise their family.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at Rock Dam, boating and fishing. She also liked to snowmobile, golf, and play Bridge with her friends.

Myrth was a long-time member of Thorp United Methodist Church. She was an extremely loyal supporter of Thorp Athletics, and attended every game sitting at the 50 yard line or center court with her friends, "Old Yellers."

She will be dearly missed by her children: Pete (Mary) Bogumill of Chippewa Falls, WI, Tom (Nancy) Bogumill of Weston, WI, Jane (Steve) Dwyer of Maple Plain, MN, Jill (Ron) Rogalski of Thorp, WI, and John (Kay) Bogumill of Chippewa Falls, WI; her 16 grandchildren: Cindy (Frank) Lucchese, John (Missy) Bogumill, Tony (Darla) Bogumill, Dennis (Deb) Bogumill, Dawn (Shane) Bogumill, Travis (Michelle) Bogumill, Christie (Vern) Nystrom, Corrie (Chad) Bohm, Carissa (Cliff) Stricklen, Ryan (Elise) Dwyer, Mandy (Chad) Hauser, Craig (Lacy) Lewandowski, Kristen (Scott) Merwin, Mitchell (Val) Bogumill, Lauren (Matt) Folstad, and Marcus (Lauren) Bogumill; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Irvine of Bogalousa, LA; one sister-in-law, Gloria Redlin of Irvine, CA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Myrth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clayborne, on July 12, 1977; her son, Dennis Bogumill; her daughter-in-law, Barb Bogumill; and one brother, Joel Redlin.
