Meyer, Dolores L. (24 February 1931 – 26 February 2020)

Dolores L. Meyer, 89, of Black River Falls, WI passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

She was born February 24, 1931 to George and Mollie (Heffele) Herbel. Dolores was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1948. For about 27 years, Dolores worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Black River Falls.

On June 25, 1949, Dolores married Frederick “Kenny” Meyer. Together they enjoyed traveling with her parents. She was a great care giver to her parents over the years. Dolores had many names, depending on who she was with. To her family, she was known as Boopi, but to her friends she was known as Dolly. Dolores was raised Lutheran and was always a practicing Christian.

Dolores was a very independent person and was very particular about keeping her car clean. She enjoyed many things including- watching her nieces and nephews play sports, watching old TV westerns from the 50’s and 60’s such as the Johnny Carson Show. Dolores was an avid Packer fan! She was also an active helper in the Black River Falls Thanksgiving dinner with her nieces Karen and Linda. Dolores especially enjoyed making large batches of Bierocks for the family. She always looked forward to the weekly fish fry night out with Dennis, Barb, Karen and Linda.

She is survived by her siblings, Dorothy Ann Ford of Great Falls, MT, Don (Kathy) Herbel of Green Bay. She is further survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husband Kenny; parents George and Mollie; sister Violet Hardwick; brothers-in-law, Daryl Hardwick, Jerry Ford.

Special thanks to Dennis, Karen, and Linda for their assistance over the past few years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
