Martin, Jesse Z. (8 AUG 1947 – 4 MAR 2020)

Jesse Z. Martin, age 72 years, 6 months and 24 days, of the Town of Hixon passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at his residence.

Services were at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020, at Longwood Mennonite Church in the Town of Longwood. His final resting place will be at the church cemetery. Marvin Leid, Edwin Nolt, Andrew Brubacher, Larry Zimmerman and Elvin Fox officiated. Pallbearers were: Elvin Leid, Elton Martin, Alvin Nolt, John Martin, Paul Martin and Jesse Martin Jr. Visitation was on Sunday, March 8, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at his son Elton's residence (W5176 Eddy Road, Owen).

Jesse was born on August 8, 1947, in Lancaster County, PA, the son of Paul B. and Emma H. (Zimmerman) Martin. He was united in marriage to Laura N. Martin on October 8,1970, in Pennsylvania.

Jesse lived in Lancaster County, PA before moving to Owen in April of 1975, where he farmed until 2002, and then he moved to Withee and worked for AB Coach.

Jesse is survived by his children: Linda (Elvin) Leid, Elton (Elva) Martin, Esther (Alvin) Nolt, Emma (Paul) Martin, Rosann Martin, Ruth (Marlin) Snyder, Laura Martin, Erla Martin, John (Jennifer) Martin, Paul (Sheralyn) Martin, Mary Martin and Jesse Martin Jr.; and 34 grandchildren. He is further survived by three brothers: John Dan Martin, Eli (Ada) Martin and Reuben (Esther) Martin; two sisters: Laura Martin and Emma Martin; and two sisters-in-law: Ida Martin and Edna Martin.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Laura N. Martin; two infant grandsons; brothers: Noah Martin, Edward Martin and Jay Paul Martin; and sisters: Esther Martin and Mary Martin.
