Smasal, Mrs. John (13 JUN 1909 – 11 JUL 1972)
Mrs. John Smasal, 63, died Tuesday afternoon at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Dennis, Milwaukee; six brothers, Frank
Kastel, Boyd, Lawrence, Florida, Leo, Stanley, Edward, Eau Claire, Roman,
Milwaukee, Sylvester, Stanley; and five sisters, Mrs. Herman Eslinger, Mrs.
Arthur Zimmerman, Mrs. Emitt Ruff, all of Boyd, Mrs. Cecelia Glaser, West Allis,
and Mrs. Firmin Bauers, Thorp.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 17 at Holy Family South Catholic
Church, Stanley, with Father Joseph Marx officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart
Cemetery, Edson.
Mrs. Smasal was born June 13, 1909 in the Town of Edson. She was married to John
Smasal September 11, 1925, and they farmed in the Town of Edson until 1968, when
they moved to Stanley.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Anne's Altar Society, and St.
Margaret's Circle in Edson.
