Clarence Rhyner, 68, died suddenly at his home in the trailer court (Thorp,
Clark Co., Wis.) on Saturday afternoon, July 29th, 1972.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 1, ten a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church.
Burial was made in St. Hedwig’s.

Rhyner, Clarence (6 MAY 1904 – 29 JUL 1972)
Clarence Conrad Rhyner, 68, retired grocery store owner, passed away of a heart
attack at his home July 29, 1972. Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s
Church, Thorp, on Tuesday, August 1, with Father Wil officiating at the ten a.m.
service. Interment was made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, rural Thorp.
Pallbearers were Terry Biddle, Steve Schultz, Kim Agnew, Blaine Ruchs, Gordon
Rhyner, Bob Gallistel.
Mr. Rhyner was born May 6, 1904 at Stetsonville, Wisconsin. He resided in
Wausau, New Auburn, Wis., Rockford, Illinois, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and now
Thorp (Clark Co.), Wisconsin. On June 18, 1924 he was united in marriage to Ann
Gallistel at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, Wisconsin.
Surviving are his wife, Ann; six daughters, (Elynor) Mrs. Ted Schultz, Rockford,
Illinois, (Marvel) Mrs. Lee Biddle, Thorp, (Germaine) Mrs. Gen Agnew, Chippewa
Falls, (Carol) Mrs. John Nelson, Rockford, Illinois, (Phyllis) Mrs. Herbert
Rucks, Rockford, Illinois, (Audrey) Mrs. Albert Wonn, Rockford, Illinois; one
brother, Norman Rhyner, Westboro, Wisconsin; two sisters, (Lucille) Mrs. Rudy
Gallistel, Ogema, (Esther) Mrs. Henry Gebert, Dorchester; 18 grandchildren and 1
great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Rhyner, who was killed in action
December 19, 1950, in Korea; also one sister, (Irene) Mrs. Henry Fritche; three
brothers, George, Harry, Gilbert, and one grandson, Teddy Schultz.
