The Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, Stanley, was the setting chosen by Miss
Kathryn Kay Curtis as she exchanged wedding vows with Timothy Paul Smith on
Saturday, July 1st, 1972. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Basil Curtis,
Stanley, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Robert Smith of Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.).
Officiating at the one-thirty double ring ceremony were the Rev. Garnet Smith
and the Rev. John Mummert. Mrs. Shirley Schreffler was the organist and
accompanied Mrs. Patty Manier as she sang “You and Me.”
Maid of honor was Miss Sandi Curtis, and serving as bridesmaid was Miss Karen
Girard.
Richard Schesel was the best man for the groom, and Rich Wyczawski was the
groomsman. Serving as ushers were Dave Keating, Dennis Klick and Jim Brandt.
About 10 guests greeted the newlyweds at a reception in the church parlors
immediately following the ceremony.
The couple is residing at 222 ½ North Broadway, Stanley. The bride, a graduate
of Stanley-Boyd High School, is employed at Long’s Super Market in Stanley. The
groom graduated from Thorp High School and attended WSU, River Falls and WSU,
Stout.
