Lockhart, Sophie V. (12 JAN 1909 – 2 AUG 1972)

Mrs. Sophie Virginia Lockhart, age 63, resident of Route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), formerly a Stanley area resident, passed away at her home suddenly Wednesday morning.

She was born January 12, 1909 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of Celia and Henry Horban. In April of 1930 she was united in marriage to Paul Lockhart at Crown Point, Indiana. After their marriage they lived in Chicago until 1946. They then moved to the Town of Worden (Clark Co.) until 1958, and then moved to Owen. They have lived there since.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; eight sons, Leslie of Elkhorn, Paul Jr. of West Chicago, Illinois, Sam of Schofield, Wisconsin, Walter of West Chicago, Illinois, Daniel of Geneva, Illinois, and Robert of Wheaton, Illinois; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Cynthia) Warminski of Stanley, and Mrs. Charles (Marian) Wilbur of Stanley; twenty-three grandchildren; six brothers, John and Sam Horban of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, Walter and Peter of Marshfield, Joseph of Stanley, and Mike of Oregon, and one sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Pawelko of Lublin, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one child, one sister, and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, with Father Joseph Marx officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery, Stanley.
