PFC James P. Mogensen is on furlough at his home in Jump River (Taylor Co.,
Wis.). His mother owns Rose’s Bar. Jim has been stationed in San Diego,
California and will leave for North Carolina for electrical training. He was
also one of the four out of 500 recruits to be accepted to the Academy at
Annapolis, Maryland for Officers Training. He will enter that next September. He
returns September 6th 1972 to base. His mother flew out to see him graduate.
It’s a big coincidence, but Rose went in for her usual eye opener and low and
behold about the third day out there in Lupies Bar, there laid a Phillips Bee
newspaper with her Pony Pull advertising right in front.
2,300 miles from home and people still know what’s going on up here in our
little town.
