College Notes (Honors - 2019)

The following area students completed degree requirements at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in December. Students are listed by hometown, name, degree, major(s) and honors (if applicable).

Loyal: Logan Fulwiler: bachelor of science, biology major, College of Science and Health individualized option (BS)

Neillsville: Krista Rueth, bachelor of science, early childhood through middle childhood education major, honors

Unity: Nicholas Weiler, bachelor of science, bio-chemistry major with ASBMB certification, College of Science and Health individualized option (BS), highest honors.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville celebrated its 203rd commencement ceremonies Dec. 14, 2019 in Williams Fieldhouse, and the ceremonies featured local students.

The following area students earned a bachelor’s degree from UW-Platteville or an associate’s degree from the university’s Baraboo Sauk County or Richland campuses. Students are listed by hometown, name and major.

Chili: Maddison Clemens, STEM education, middle childhood-early adolescence; Tyler Prust, biology

Granton: Cassandra Bandt, criminal justice

UW-Platteville also announced its chancellor’s list, honoring those with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages (GPA’s) for the fall 2019 semester.

Students from this area who earned a 4.0 GPA include Clemens, Bandt, and Courtney Frankewicz of Thorp, who is majoring in elementary education.

The university has named its dean’s list honorees for the fall 2019 semester as well. The college of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture and the College of Liberal Arts and Education require GPAs of 3.75 and above for dean’s list honors, while the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science requires students to reach at least a 3.5.

Area students named to the list include Clemens, Bandt, and Courtney Frankewicz, in addition to the following students:

Greenwood: Decker Lindner, mechanical engineering

Loyal: Zachary Geier, industrial technology management

Thorp: Raleigh Frankewicz, agricultural business; Paige Mertens, business administration; Ellie Windl, forensic investigation.
