More than 100 persons were present a week ago Saturday afternoon, Sept. 9, 1972
to help a Lublin (Taylor Co., Wis.) woman, Mrs. Frances Cwikla, a resident of
the Golden Age Nursing Home in Rib Lake, celebrated her 100th birthday. Mrs.
Cwikla, who was born in Warsaw, Poland, about September 7, 1872, is believed to
be the oldest living person in Taylor County woman. She married Paul Cwikla, who
died in December of 1931. They came to the United States about 69 years ago,
resided in Chicago for 10 years, and then moved to Lublin, where they resided
since. She became the nursing home resident about two years ago.
Among those attending were he six children, Leo of Chicago, Walter of Lublin,
Eleanor of Chicago, Joseph of Owen, Chester of Withee, and Stanley, Chicago. She
also has 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 11
great-great-grandchildren.
