Davel, Bernard "Barney" (23 July 1913-5 April 1989)
LOYAL--Services will be Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, for
Bernard Davel, 75, who died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He
had been admitted earlier in the day.
The Rev. Chester Osowski will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery,
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Visitation will be at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, today. A Parish Council of
Catholic Women rosary will be today, followed by a prayer service at the funeral
home.
He was born July 23, 1913, in Marshfield, to Joseph and Anna Davel. He attended
St. Anthony's Parochial School.
He married Katherine DeYoung October 19, 1932, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
After his marriage, he worked for the railroad for a year, In 1934, he began
working for O.W. Trindal Company, Loyal. He worked there until his retirement in
1976. He then operated what was known as Barney's Vegetable Farm.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Allan (Mary Ann) Wehrman of
Loyal, Mrs. Marliss Hoeck of Hartford, Mrs. Sally Bauer of Nekoosa, and Mrs.
Jacqueline Culp of Milwaukee; five sons, Jerome and Timothy, both of Loyal,
Daniel and Patrick, both of Marshfield, and Thomas of Madison; two sisters, Mrs.
Margaret Fiegel of Oshkosh and Mrs. Helena Plath of Neenah; 25 grandchildren;
and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, two sons, Kenneth and Richard, and three
brothers.
