Daniel Eugene Gebert (25 Nov 1955 – 26 Jan 2011)
Daniel E. Gebert, 55, of Clintonville passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2011
at Appleton Medical Center.
Daniel Eugene Gebert was born November 25, 1955 in Colby, WI. to Clarence and
Elisabeth (Glawe) Gebert. After school he served a short time in the U.S. Air
Force. Dan attended Fox Valley Technical College for Diesel Mechanic. He was
united in marriage on June 30, 1978 to Tina J. Johnson at the courthouse in
Appleton. For several years he drove milk truck for Alto Dairy and White Clover
Dairy. In 1993 he took over his parent’s farm and began raising beef cattle. Dan
also worked for some time as a mechanic with Miller Supply in Clintonville. Most
recently, he was employed as a carpenter with Reetz Builders of Appleton
constructing log cabin homes.
Dan was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1502 of Clintonville. In the
Moose Lodge he was active as an administrator and volunteered as treasurer. He
was a former member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Dan enjoyed
shooting pool with his tavern league, playing cribbage, helping out family and
friends in need, and watching the science fiction series, Star Trek. He also
liked going for a ride in the truck with his dogs; Lady, Mandy, Chubby and
Barron. Dan never had a bad word to say about anyone, he was not a bragger, and
his actions showed his love for his family.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Tina, and three children; Jonathan
Gebert of De Pere, Jennifer Gebert of Clintonville, and Michael (fiancée Angie)
Gebert of Marion; one granddaughter, Elliana Gebert and her half-brother,
Samuel; seven brothers, Norman (Sandy) of Clintonville, Norbert (Jane) of
Neenah, Stephan (Linda) of Menasha, Richard (Corrine) of Nichols, Patrick (Beth)
of Wausau, Jerome (Roxanne) of Kaukauna, Junior (Penny) of Rosendale, and one
sister, Ann (Otto) Reetz of Appleton. He is further survived by six
brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives
and friends. Dan is preceded in death by his parents and his parents-in-law,
Lewis and Helen Johnson.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Appleton Medical Center and
the Martha Siekman Cancer Center for the wonderful care provided to Dan.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 30, at 3:00 p.m.at the Beil-Didier
Funeral Home, Clintonville. St Rose Parish Director, Lincoln Wood, will
officiate and inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.
