Jarvis, Mabel (12 May 1880-23 September 1941)
LOYAL--Funeral services for Mrs. George Jarvis, 61. who died at her home in
Wausau Tuesday evening, were conducted this morning from St. James Catholic
Church, Wausau.
The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas O'Shaughnessy officiated at the requiem mass and
burial was made in the Catholic cemetery at Loyal. The deceased had been ill for
two months before her death.
Mrs. Jarvis, nee Mabel Devlin, who was born in Lowell, May 12, 1880, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Devlin. In 1902 she moved with the family to
Loyal and for several years taught in schools near here.
She was married to George Jarvis on April 1, 1907, at Loyal. After their
marriage the family lived at various times in Wausau and Loyal, finally leaving
here in 1934 to make their home in Wausau.
Mrs. Jarvis was a member of the Royal Neighbors and St. James Ladies Guild in
Wausau.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Lenore, at home, a son, Patrick,
Wausau; and one grandchild. Two sisters, Mrs. Rose Imlay, Washington, D.C.; and
Miss Madeline Devlin, Cleveland, Ohio; and two brothers, John Devlin, Reeseville,
and James Devlin, Marinette, also survive.
