Henry Gebert (25 Jun 1897 – 22 Jul 1980)
Henry Gebert, 83, of Route 1, Dorchester, died Tuesday afternoon at a Medford
nursing home.
Mr. Gebert was born June 25, 1897 in the town of Little Black, Taylor County,
the son of George and Elizabeth Gebert. He married the former Esther Rhyner on
Nov. 26, 1918, in Stetsonville. She survives.
Mr. Gebert farmed in Deer Creek until 1932, when he moved to a farm in the town
of Holton.
Survivors besides his wife include two sons, Clarence, Clintonville, and Ray,
Westerville, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. Herman (Lucille) Sebold, Marshfield,
Mrs. John (Jeannette) Robida, Dorchester, Mrs. Eugene (Greta) Ross, Neillsville,
and Mrs. Peter (LuAnn) Wanke, Medford; five brothers, Fred and Jack, both of
Stetsonville, Frank, Abbotsford, George and Mike, both of Medford; two sisters,
Mrs. Edgar (Elizabeth) Paul, Stetsonville, and Mrs. Al (Marie) Nehring,
Marshfield; 33 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one
great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, the Rev. James
Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
