Vine, Virginia (Marriage – 29 November 1975)
Marriage vows were exchanged November 29 at the Neillsville United Church of
Christ by Miss Virginia Vine and Paul Fennema, both of Kenosha. The Rev. Gary
Clark officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Vine, Rt. 2 Granton, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fennema, Kenosha.
The bride appeared in a Victorian-style gown of ivory organza over satin
detailed with imported French Chantilly lace and seed pearls. The attached
chapel train was edged with a wide flounce of matching lace. Baby’s breath was
entwined in her hair, and she carried an arrangement of light pink roses, baby’s
breath and ferns as she was presented in marriage by her father.
Mrs. Larry Schully, Madison was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Bill
Knoff, St. Francisville, La., and Miss Kristine Vine, Rt. 2 Granton. They wore
brown velvet skirts accented with light apricot blouses and complimented by
wide-brimmed straw hats with brown velvet ribbon trim. Wicker baskets filled
with yellow carnations, rust mums and baby’s breath completed their ensembles.
The groom was attended by Mark Fennema, Kenosha, as bestman and by Jim Fennema
and Tom Fennema as groomsmen. Guests were seated by Paul Vine, La Crosse, and
Jeff Vine, Rt. 2 Granton.
Soloists were Mrs. Mark Fennema and Miss Julie Knoff. Mrs. Wayne Zoutendam was
the organist.
A reception was held at the Neillsville Country Club.
Then bride was honored at prenuptial showers given by Mrs. Ray Fennema and Sandy
in Kenosha and by Mrs. Rollie Jenni, Mrs. Ervin Steiger and Mrs. Bob
Friedrichsen in Neillsville.
The new Mrs. Fennema is a 1970 graduate of Neillsville High School and a 1975
graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She spent her junior year
studying in Madrid and is presently employed as a Spanish teacher at Washington
Junior High School, Kenosha. Her husband graduated from Tremper High School,
Kenosha, in 1966, served in the Army for two years, and also graduated from
Northwestern University, Evanston, Il. He is a history teacher at Tremper High
School.
The newlyweds are living at 3019 85th St., Apt. 27, in Kenosha.
