Ryser, Corrine Elizabeth "Sis or Cora" (4 December 1903-21 July 2000)
LOYAL--Corrine "Sis" E. Ryser, 96, Marshfield, died at Sylvia's Rest Haven in
Marshfield on July 21, 2000.
Burial was in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Al Becker, Jim
Becker, Arnie Becker, Ray Rondorf, Conrad Becker, and Donnie Becker. Visitation
was at Cuddie Funeral Home.
Corrine Elizabeth Becker was born December 4, 1903, in Stockton, Illinois, to
Joseph and Elizabeth (Wand) Becker. At the age of eight, she moved with her
family to Manchester, Iowa. She graduated from St. Xavier Catholic School in
1922 and moved with her family to Loyal in 1923.
She married Christian Ryser of Bern, Switzerland, on November 6, 1932, in Kansas
City, Missouri. After their marriage, they lived in various cities in Ohio,
Missouri, and then Buffalo, New York, where Chris was an executive chef at the
Hilton Hotel. Her husband died on August 15, 1980.
Corrine then moved to Marshfield in September of 1964 and lived at Hartl Manor
until 1993, at which time she moved in with Lucille Schmidt. In 1997, she moved
to Sylvia's Rest Haven where she resided until the time of her death.
She was always active in volunteer work, as a Gray Lady in St. Louis, at St.
Vincent DePaul and always stopping to see someone at the nursing home or
hospital. Corinne was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and its PCCW, the
Missionary Society and the Senior Citizens Club, all in Marshfield.
She was survived by seven nieces, Geri Crandal, Carol (Charles) Bremigan, Barb
(Tom) Gassick, Yvonne (Jim) Gies, Diane (Don) Pergande, Sister Mary Becker and
Shirley (Ken) Verhalen; nine nephews, Conrad (Marge) Becker, Donald (Barb)
Becker, Al (Carol) Becker, Harold (Rose) Becker, Ray (Betty) Rondorf, Bob
Rondorf, Arnie (Avis) Becker, Jim (Louis) Becker and Jerome (Bonnie) Becker; and
other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her Parents; husband, Chris; five brothers, Clarence,
Art, Joe, Walter, and Delbert Becker; and on sister Mae Rondorf.
