Clifford Meyer (21 Aug 1914 - 29 Dec 2007)
Clifford F. Meyer, 93, Medford, died Saturday, Dec. 29 at Memorial Nursing Home
in Medford. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 3 at 11 a.m. at Holy
Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger, Father Dennis
Meulemans and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Internment of his cremated
remains will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at a later time.
Pallbearers are Jason, Justin and Josh Meyer, Terry Steinman and Pat Beidel.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
Clifford Meyer was born August 21, 1914 in Dorchester to the late Edward and
Annie (Geiger) Meyer. He attended Dorchester schools.
On July 9, 1941 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, he married Lydia
Spreen, who survives. After his education he worked in the timber industry
operating saw mills in northern Wisconsin, then was a charter owner of Meyer
Lumber Co. in Dorchester which he owned and operated with his brothers. He built
and developed Romeo, Tiffany and Juliet lake project/subdivision in the Town of
Medford, and owned and operated Pan-abode Cedar Log Homes in Medford for a
period of time.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Medford Catholic Knights of
Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, music, hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Bonnie (Peter)
Larson of Thorp, Ann Marie (Leo) Palmero of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jayne
(Les) Kinkade of Louisville, Ky.; three sons, Gary (Kris) and Pat (Carole), both
of Medford, and Mark (Karrie) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Roy
(Marilyn) and Paul, both of Dorchester; 17 grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Alvin,
Raymond, Ralph and Art; and a sister, Leona Diers.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the family for future
designation.
