Mrs. Robert A. Werner
A concelebrated Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the
Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford for Mrs. Robert A. (Rita A.) Werner, 44,
Route 5, Marshfield. She was pronounced dead on arrival Friday evening at
Wautoma Memorial Hospital of head injuries suffered in a two-car collision, 2
miles south of Coloma on U.S. Highway 51.
Principal celebrant of the Mass will be the Rev. Frederick J. Brost, a cousin of
the deceased.
Interment will be in the Medford Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel in Marshfield after 2 p.m.
Tuesday and at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time. Three
services will be held Tuesday at the funeral home – Knights of Columbus service
at 7:30 p.m., St. Joachim’s parish vigil service at 8 p.m. and St. Joachim’s
Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service at 8:15 p.m.
Born Dec. 31, 1930, at Medford, the former Rita A. Brost attended Our Lady of
the Holy Rosary Parochial School and Medford High School. She lived in Medford
until her marriage to Robert A. Werner on May 24, 1952, at Holy Rosary parish,
Medford.
The couple the lived in Minnesota for a period of time and in 1958, moved to the
City of Marshfield. They moved to Route 5, Marshfield, in June 1968. Mrs. Werner
was employed by the Marshfield Clinic the past 10 years.
She was a member of St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, Pittsville, and its Parish
Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Mrs. Margaret Brost, Medford; three
daughters, Mrs. Philip (Ann) Bishop and Miss Julie Werner, both of Stevens
Point, and Kris Werner, Route 5, Marshfield; two sons, Marty and Patrick, both
of Route 5, Marshfield; three sisters, Mrs. William (Arlyle) Mayer, Green Bay,
and Mrs. Robert (Peg) Tuma and Mrs. Robert (Marlene) Dettmering, both of
Medford; five brothers, Lambert, LeRoy, Vernon, Allen and Thomas Brost, all of
Medford.
Her father preceded her in death.
