Vandehey, Raymond H. (26 January 1901-27 August 1973)
ABBOTSFORD--Raymond H. Vandehey, 72, Abbotsford, died Monday at the Colonial
Manor Nursing Home in Wausau, where he had been a resident for the past four
years. Death was due to heart failure.
Services will be held Thursday at the Polnaszek Funeral Home in Abbotsford and
St. Bernard's Catholic Church here. The Rev. Emil Hodnik, pastor will officiate,
with burial to follow in the Loyal cemetery.
Mr. Vandehey was born in the town of Beaver, Clark County, January 26, 1901. He
attended the former Latarte Elementary School in Beaver township and lived and
operated a dairy farm with his parents most of his life. He also worked for the
Rice Juice Company, which was owned and operated by his sister and
brother-in-law.
Survivors include four brothers, Elmer and James Vandehey, Escanaba, Michigan,
and Leonard Vandehey, Auburndale; and three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Rice, Iron
Mountain, Michigan, Mrs. Adonis (Margaret) Dalberto, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Noel
(Nora0 Schnelling, Abbotsford.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Raymond H. Vandehey, 72, of Abbotsford, died Monday, August 27, 1973, at the
Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Wausau, where he had resided the past four years.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s
Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Burial will be made in the Loyal Cemetery. Father
Emil Hodnik will officiate at the services. Visitation was held at the Polnaszek
Funeral Home Wednesday, where a rosary was said at 8 p.m.
Mr. Vandehey was born January 26, 1901 in the Town of Beaver. He received his
education in the Latarte Elementary School in the Town of Beaver, and operated a
farm with his parents most of his life, and later worked for Rice Juice Company.
He never married.
Surviving are four brothers, Elmer, Grant, Leonard, and James; and three
sisters, Hazel, Margaret and Nora.
He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, and his mother and father.
