Westhoff, Walter E. (9 September 1900-9 April 1984)
LOYAL-- Walter E. Westhoff, 83, of the Colonial House of Colby, formerly of
Loyal, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he was admitted
April 4.
Services will be Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, with the Rev.
James Logan officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Kosik, James Hall, Erik Westhoff, Henry Trampbush, Ray
McNeely and Jeff McNeely.
Visitation at the Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, will be Wednesday, where the PCCW
will recite the rosary and prayer service.
He was born September 9, 1900 in Germany, to the late Mr. and Mrs. August (Maria
Odendahl) Westhoff, and received his education in schools there. In 1929 he came
to the United States, settling in Kansas, later moving to Chicago where he was
employed by International Harvester Company. In 1947 he moved to the Loyal area,
farming in the town of Beaver. He retired in 1967, but continued to live on the
farm.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. On May 24, 1928 in Germany he
married Regina Deipenbrock. She survives along with one son, Walter Jr. of
Antioch, Illinois; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Jutta) of Roselle, Illinois, and
Mrs. Magdalena Hall of Loyal; and eight grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister.
