Weyer, Robert William (30 November 1920-7 July 2004)

LOYAL - Robert W. Weyer, 83, of Loyal, died at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield on Wednesday, July 7, 2004, from complications following surgery.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2004, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser and Rev. Chester Osowski will co-officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Tom Herr, Rob Weyer, Ben Dahlby, Kyle Weyer, Matt Weyer, Chris Dahlby and Derrick Weyer.

Visitation will be Friday at Cuddie Funeral Home.


Robert William Weyer was born Nov. 30, 1920, in Loyal, the son of John and Helen (Redig) Weyer. He grew up on the family farm and was educated at St. Anthony's Catholic School.

Robert was united in marriage to Dorothy Walter on May 8, 1945, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. They farmed in the Loyal area until 1965.

Robert then worked at Wick Building Systems, drove school buses, sold cars for Domine Chevrolet and supported his children's businesses. He was a former volunteer fireman for the Loyal Fire Department. He had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, snowmobiling, riding motorcycle, NASCAR racing and visiting casinos.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Dorothy of Loyal; his children, Edward (Dianne) Weyer of Fayetteville, Ga., Barbara Simonson (Ken Schultz) of Marshfield, Jane (Bill) Herr of Greenwood, James (Deborah) Weyer of Chili, Joseph (Mary) Weyer of Loyal, Ray (Bonnie) Weyer of Loyal, Susan (Dennis) Buehler of Marshfield, Pat (Barbara) Weyer of Winter, Terry (Shirley) Weyer of Loyal, Karen (Richard) Holland of Janesville, and Cindy (Bill) Puent of Marshfield; 27 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ann Johnson of Solon Springs, and Rosa Bord of Campbellsport.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Andrew, Alex, Mike, Rich and George; and two sisters, Colletta Tasse and Marie in infancy.
