Bertz, Elaine Adeline (30 October 1911-3 March 1994)

LOYAL-- Elaine Adeline Bertz, 82, Newhall, California, formerly of Loyal died March 3, 1994, at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, Valencia, California.

Services will be Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, with the Rev. Joseph Kraly officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be at Rinka Funeral Home.

She was born October 30, 1911, in Spokeville, to the late Charles and Elsa (Oestreick) Lucht. She was a graduate of Loyal High School. She was married to Harold G. Bertz August 27, 1936, in Loyal, and he died June 3, 1984.

After her education, she worked on the family farm until she began working at Loyal Drug Store in 1935. She worked there for six years and then worked at the Loyal IGA Store. She retired from the IGA Store after 25 years and continued to live in Loyal until 1992. She then moved to Newhall, California.

She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school and was Sunday school treasurer for 32 years. She was a member of the church Women's Club and the 500 Card Club in Loyal. Shea was also active with the Cancer Society and helped raise money for cancer research.

Survivors include one son, Gary, of Valencia, California; one sister, Ruth Weyhmiller of Loyal; and two grandchildren.

She also was predeceased by one brother, Gerhart Lucht.

Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church Elevator Fund would be appreciated.
