Ehlert, Otto (12 September 1894-16 October 1957)
Otto E. Ehlert, 63-year-old farmer of route 3, Marshfield, died today at St.
Joseph's Hospital where he had been a patient for one month. Death was due to a
heart ailment.
The Rev. G. M. Krueger will conduct funeral services Saturday at Immanuel
Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery at Loyal, where Mr.
Ehlert formerly resided.
Friends may call at the Hansen Funeral Home.
Mr. Ehlert was born in Loyal September 12, 1894, and attended the Dodgeville
School in that area. His parents moved from their farm to the city of Loyal in
1916. Mr. Ehlert moved from Loyal to the present Ehlert farm in the Marshfield
area 10 years after his marriage, which took place November 19, 1930, at
Veefkind, to Dorothy Woodkey.
He served for nine years on the school board on the town of Spencer. During
World War I he served in France with the U.S. Navy and was a member of Immanuel
Lutheran Church.
Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Edward, Sheboygan, Gerald and Charles,
Marshfield; two brothers, Frank of Wild Rose and Albert of Route 2, Owen; and
one grandchild. His parents, one brother and three sisters preceded him in
death.
