Folstad, Jane Ann (26 AUG 1972)
Miss Jane Folstad, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Folstad, Stanley (Chippewa
Co., Wis.), became the bride of Leonard Gutowski, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), son
of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gutowski, Stanley, in a one p.m. marriage ceremony
performed at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley. Reverend Joseph B. Marx
officiated at the High Mass and ceremony, on Saturday, August 26th, 1972. The
men’s church choir sang.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a white entrained gown of
rayon organza and Venice lace in Juliette style. Her headpiece of Venice lace
and seed pearls held her bouffant veil in place, and she carried a bouquet of
pink orchids, stephanotis and miniature pink carnations.
Mary Folstad, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor, and bridesmaids
were Kaye Gutowski, sister of the groom, and Mary Ann Lechleitner, friend of the
bride. They wore fern green gowns of polyester crepe and carried bouquets of
white carnations with tinted green stephanotis and baby’s breath.
Severyn Gutowski was his brother’s best man, and groomsmen were James Folstad
and Joseph Benzschawel. Ushers were John Folstad and Charles Gutowski Jr.
A reception and dance were held for 300 guests at Quonset Hall, Thorp.
The bride, a graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School, is a secretary with ITT
Midwestern Life Insurance Co. The groom, also a graduate of Stanley-Boyd High
School, is farming on route 1, Thorp, where the couple will reside after a
wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.
