Genrich, Elmer (3 Sep 1903 – 4 Jan 1977)

Funeral services were held Friday, January 7, 1977 for Elmer Genrich, age 73, Dorchester.

The Rev. Milton Petzold officiated at the 1:30 p.m. rites held at Peace United Church of Christ. Burial was held in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were William Pueschner, Edward Werner, Herman Sebold, Ernest Mehner, Gordon Anderson and Harold Schultz. Kraut-Maurina Funeral Service was in charge.

Mr. Genrich died Tuesday, January 4, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

He was born September 3, 1903 at Dorchester. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Gust Genrich. He received his education in the Dorchester grade school and graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1922.

Mr. Genrich was employed by the Dorchester Co-operative Grocery Store, and later became manager of the Dorchester Co-op Feed Store. He joing the U.S. Army in 1941, and upon his return from service her was employed at Marathon Electric at Wausau until 1948, when he went into partnership with his brother Hugo in raising mink. He retired in 1975 from the mink business. He never married.

He was a member of the Mink Breeders Association; an honorary member of the Dorchester Fire Department, having served as fire chief for several years; served as trustee on the village board for six years, and was a member of the Dorchester non-profit housing corporation.

Survivors include one sister, Olga Genrich, Dorchester, and five brothers, Henry, Otto and Hugo, all of Dorchester, and Lawrence and Lloyd, both of Milwaukee.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
