Washburn, Milton L. (23 October 1910 – 26 February 1976)
Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral
Home for Milton L. Washburn, 65, of Humbird, who died Thursday, February 26, at
Black River Falls Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Ralph Walker officiated, and
burial followed in the Town of Mentor Cemetery at Humbird.
Milton Washburn, the son of Frank and Elizabeth Taylor Washburn, was born
October 23, 1910, in the Humbird area and received his education in local
schools. He was married to the former Matilda Fiegert on November 11, 1944, in
Crookston, Mn. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Eau Claire where
Mr. Washburn worked for the Hoeppner and Bartlett Construction Company. He
retired in 1965 because of failing health and the family moved to Humbird. Mr.
Washburn was president of the Humbird Community Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Richard Washburn of
Merrillan, David Washburn of Augusta, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Bates of La Grange,
In., and Betty Washburn, at home; and three grandchildren. He is also survived
by two brothers, Wesley Washburn of Humbird and Asa Washburn of Black River
Falls.
