Olsen, John, Sr. (16 November 1895-25 October 1986)
LOYAL--John Olsen, Sr., 90, of 106 N. West St., Loyal died Saturday at Clark
County Health Care Center, where he had resided since August 1985.
Services will be Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, with the Rev. Joseph
R Kraly officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Loyal.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons: John and Paul Bloom, Steve Dahlby,
Daniel Marg, and Jessie and Brian Gilbertson.
Visitation will be at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal.
Mr. Olsen was born November 16, 1895 in the Town of Unity, to Andrew and Ellen
Olsen and attended Pleasant Ridge School there.
He married Frieda Rohloff June 17, 1925 at Trinity Lutheran Church and they
farmed in the town of Unity until 1960, when they moved to Loyal. His wife
survives.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church council for
12 years. During his retirement he did carpentry work.
Surviving, besides his wife, are four daughters, Mrs. Glen (Agnes) Bloom and
Mrs. Vern (Virgene) Dahlby, both of Loyal, Mrs. Oral (Nordeen) Gilbertson,
Spring Green, and Mrs, Marvin (Bonnie) Marg, Neillsville; 15 grandchildren and
18 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers.
