Delores “Dee” P. Weber (27 Sep 1930 – 5 May 2013)
Delores “Dee” P. Weber, Age 82, of Dorchester, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at
Aspirus Wausau Hospital where she has been a patient for the past six days.
Delores was born September 27, 1930, at the Town of Mayville, Clark County, to
Edwin and Lillian (Startz) Broeske. She attended Pleasant Hill Grade School,
Dorchester Elementary School and graduated from Dorchester High School.
Her marriage to Francis Weber took place on June 9, 1953, at St. Louis Catholic
Church, Dorchester. He survives.
She worked at the Block Hotel in Dorchester and did housekeeping for the Helen
and Carl Mertens family prior to her marriage. After marriage, they farmed in
the Town of Little Black. She enjoyed baking, gardening, having children around,
farming with her husband and polka masses from the Owen/Withee band and choir.
Delores was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, the Busy
Homemakers Club, and was past president of the St. Louis Catholic Church Woman’s
Circle.
Besides he husband, Francis Weber, she is survived by two sons, Tom Weber and
Dan (Tammy) Weber, both of Dorchester, and a daughter, Judy (Matt) Tacke of
Medford; nine grandchildren, Sara, Katie, Alex, and Carisa Tacke, Angela
Bradford, Tia and Tara Weber, Jamie Crotteau, and Troy Petznick; and one
great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Marian Bascombe of Hubertus, Elaine
Bockin of Medford, Edwin (Dorothy) Broeske of Richfield, and Norman Staab of
Medford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Dick and Eugene
Broeske, Lucille Opertz, Ruth Wilke, John Straassburger, and Ronnie Staab in
infancy.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church, Medford. Father Gerard Willger, Father Dan Hackel, Deacon Joe Stefancin
presided, with interment held at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery, Dorchester.
Visitation was held 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford,
where there was an 8 p.m. Catholic prayer service held and also from 9 – 10:45
on Wednesday, May 8.
Pallbearers were Alex Tacke, Morgan Crotteau, Joe Etten, Michael Mueller, Carl
Blumenthal and Troy Petznick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the family
for future designation.
