Seeger, Herman (23 August 1894-21 October 1993)
NEKOOSA--Herman Seeger, 99, Nekoosa, father of Walter Seeger of Loyal, died
Thursday at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home, Port Edwards, where he had lived since
October 7.
Services were today at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home, Nekoosa, with the Rev. Carl
Kummer officiating. Burial was in Lutheran Cemetery, Loyal.
He was born August 23, 1894, in Kennan, to the late Carl and Ernestine Seeger.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in France. He married Hazel Mabie
November 3, 1920, in Kennan, and she died March 8, 1971.
He owned and operated his own farm in Kennan for many years and also worked in
Northern Wisconsin saw mills. After his retirement, he lived in Prentice for
three years and then moved to Nekoosa in 1965. he was a member of Bethlehem
Lutheran Church, Nekoosa.
Survivors also include two other sons, Alton of Jump River and Fredrick of Lake
City, Minnesota; five daughters, Mrs. Ed (Esther) Peters of Harlingen, Texas,
Mrs. William (Edna) Wulf of Nekoosa, Mrs. Herbert (Beatrice) Klante of
Birnamwood, Mrs. Dwight (Maxine) Quisberg of Janesville and Helen Saler of Fort
Stockton, Texas; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several
great-great-grandchildren.
He was also predeceased by one son, Robert, five brothers, six sisters; three
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
